Is Breakfast included in the room rate?
The Norumbega provides a full breakfast for guests of the inn each morning. Our kitchen prepares one Chef-selected hot entree each day, in addition to a continental breakfast buffet with a variety of breads, pastries, yogurt, meats, cheese and hardboiled eggs. There is a little something for everyone!
Do you require a deposit upon booking?
We require a 50% deposit upon booking your stay at the inn. If you are staying just one night, we require a 100% deposit,
What is your cancellation policy?
With any cancellation, there is a $50 cancellation fee. Beyond that, we ask for 7 days notice. In the event that you cancel within 7 days from your reservation – we will try our best to resell your room(s) however any unsold room nights you will be responsible for.
May I bring my pet?
While we love pets, we are not a pet friendly property.
Do you allow children?
Yes, we warmly welcome children however we have a limited number of rooms that sleep 3.
Do you have family suites?
All of our rooms are double occupancy, with the exception of the Warwick, Library and Lancaster. These rooms all sleep 3, with an additional fee of $75 for the 3rd person in the room.
Do you have water access from the property?
We do not have water access to the property. We are happy to offer suggestions once here on walks to the waterfront from the Inn.
Do you have a pool on the property?
We do not have a pool on site.
Do you have a gym on the property?
We do not have a gym onsite. The Penobscot Bay YMCA in Rockport is less than 2 miles from the Inn and offers day passes to out-of town-guests for a small fee.
Do you serve lunch onsite?
Lunch is not served on site. We are less than a mile from Camden Harbor where there are plenty of dining options, and Midcoast Maine offers a variety of lunch spots that we’re happy to recommend.
When is your restaurant open?
Our restaurant is currently open on Saturday through Tuesday evenings from 4:30pm – 8pm.
When is your bar open?
Our bar is currently open to the public Saturday through Tuesday evenings from 4:30 – 8pm. Guests of the Inn are welcome to enjoy cocktails on the remaining days from 3-6pm, and on Friday evenings it’s open until 7pm.
Are you open to the public?
Saturday through Tuesday from 4:30-8pm our restaurant is open to the public.
Do you host weddings and events?
Yes, we do. Inquiries may be sent to events@norumbegainn.com.
Do you offer free WiFi?
Yes, WiFi is available to hotel guests free of charge.
Do you have air conditioning?
All of our guest rooms and lobby-level common areas are air conditioned.
Which rooms have fireplaces?
Our Penthoue Suite and Library Suites have fireplaces. As well, our Kensington, Sandrigham and Warwick rooms also have fireplaces. During the winter months, we also have 4 fireplaces on the ground floor that are often burning during business hours.
Are there refrigerators in the rooms?
The Penthouse Suite is the only room with its own refrigerator. Otherwise, each floor has a shared guest pantry which includes a Refrigerator, Ice maker, nespresso machine, tea kettle, a selection of Stash teas, cream and sweeteners. Guests are welcome to store their own items in the shared refrigerator/freezer.
Which rooms have water views?
The Penthouse Suite, Balmoral & Canaervon have full water views. Warwick and Kensington have a tree-top water view in the summer and fall, and a full water view in Winter and Spring.
Do you have EV charging stations on site?
We have a dual universal EV charging station on site which guests may use for a nominal fee.
How close is the inn to Camden Hills State Park/Mt Battie?
Camden Hills State Park is just 1 mile north of the Inn. There are hiking maps at the Ranger Station, and you may also drive to the top for wonderful views. The Mt. Battie trailhead can also be accessed via a 15 minute walk from the Inn to Megunticook Street Ext.
How far is Acadia National Park from Camden?
Maine’s National Park is a scenic 2 hour drive from the Inn. If you’re seeking a similar experience without making the drive, we’re happy to suggest scenic drives and hikes in the midcoast that replicate the Acadia experience.
Do you have restaurant or activity suggestions?
Yes, if you continue on our website to the section titled “local area’ you will find all of our favorite restaurants, shopping and experiences, organized by season. As well, we are always happy to offer suggestions!
Do you have to share a bathroom with other guests?
All rooms in our award-winning Camden, Maine inn have their own private bathroom.
Are you open year round?
Yes, we are. We close the inn for a few staff holidays throughout the off season – otherwise we are open.
Is there free parking on site?
Yes, we have free outdoor parking on site.
How far are you from Camden Harbor? Is it walkable?
The Norumbega is ¾ of a mile from Camden Harbor and it is an easy walk. Returning, you will be going up a small incline, but the walk is through Camden’s High Street Historic District is very charming.
What is the closest airport to fly into?
Portland is the closest major airport and is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from our historic Inn. Rockland/Owls Head is the closest airport to Norumbega and is serviced by Cape Air which connects via Boston Logan, which is 3 hours 15 minutes from the Inn.
